Dictate the referral. The letter leads with your question.

Verbato writes a referral letter from your dictation. A referral letter asks another clinician to see a patient. It puts the question first, then the history, findings and medications needed to answer it.

For clinicians who refer patients to a specialist.

How your referral letter is written

  • Only the history that bears on your question goes into the letter.

  • Medications keep the dose, route and frequency you dictated.

  • Results carry their values, their units and the dates you gave.

  • The letter says “urgent” only if you did.

Your format, not ours

The sections of your referral letter and the way it is written are yours to change. To fix a document, say what is wrong in your own words.

  1. 1You correct it

“Give me more detail in the Relevant history.”

That referral letter changes. Nothing else does.

  2. 2You say it again

Make the same correction on a later referral letter and Verbato asks: “You've changed this before. Always?”

  3. 3You decide

Answer “Always” and it is kept as a rule, applied from your next referral letter on. Answer “Just this once” and nothing is kept. Documents already written stay as they are, and nothing becomes a rule unless you confirm it.

  4. 4Your rules

I write “Relevant history” in more detail.Undo

Every rule you have kept is listed, and you can undo any of them. An undone rule stops applying from your next referral letter.

How it works

Upload a file, paste a link, record in your browser, or send a voice note by Telegram or email. Verbato makes a word-for-word transcript, which you can edit and which stays beside the document. Your referral letter is written from it, in minutes.

Recording limits

A recording made in your browser can run up to 30 min on every plan; a longer session goes in as a file you upload. A free account takes recordings of up to 40 min each; for longer ones, see pricing.

Your recording

Deleted after 7 days by default, together with its transcript and documents. You can keep a project longer, up to your plan's limit. Deleting a recording leaves a receipt you can download. Nothing you record is used to train or improve AI models.

Questions about the referral letter

Does the letter come with a letterhead, an address block and a signature?
No. The letter is the clinical body: the sections you see in the example. Letterhead, the recipient's details and your signature are added where you send it from, such as your practice system or your email.
Can I dictate it in whatever order it comes to mind?
Yes. Dictate it as it comes. The letter arranges what you said into its sections, whatever order you said it in.
What if I don't mention any medications?
The letter comes back without a Current medications section. Verbato does not write “none” or assume a list: the section appears only when you dictate medications.
Does it attach results or pull anything from the patient's record?
No. The letter contains what you dictate and nothing else. Verbato has no built-in connection to your patient records, so say the values and dates you want the specialist to see.
