Verbato does not sell your personal information. We have never sold personal information and have no plans to do so.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), you have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. Since we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own commercial purposes, there is no sale or sharing to opt out of.
What We Do With Your Data
We share your data only with the service providers needed to run Verbato, and only to the extent needed to run it. Every one of them is named on our Subprocessors page, together with what it does, the data it reaches and where it processes it. None of them receives your data for their own commercial purposes, and none of them is paid by us in exchange for your information.
Analytics, and What "Sharing" Means
The part of this worth being precise about is analytics, because that is what is most often argued to be "sharing". We use one analytics provider, and we use it in two levels:
- Cookieless analytics run for everyone. No cookies are set and nothing is stored in your browser, but the events still carry your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and timezone — so they are not anonymous, and our Privacy Policy says so rather than claiming otherwise. Your location is discarded at this level.
- Enhanced analytics only run if you accept them, and they are what links activity to you across sessions.
We do not use this data for cross-context behavioural advertising, we run no advertising on Verbato, and we do not disclose it to anyone for their own purposes. You can switch analytics off for your whole account in Settings, separately from the cookie choice below.
Your Rights Under California Law
- Right to know: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you — Settings → Data & retention → Export my data.
- Right to delete: Settings → Data & retention → Delete everything erases every recording, transcript and document you have, immediately and permanently, and writes you a receipt. That control leaves the account itself in place; to delete the account as well, use Delete my account directly beneath it. If you cannot sign in, email privacy@verbato.io and we will erase it for you.
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Global Privacy Control
We detect and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out request. If your browser sends one, enhanced analytics are switched off before you are asked — no analytics cookies are set, nothing is stored in your browser, and no session is recorded.
A GPC signal also overrides a choice you made earlier. If you accepted enhanced analytics at some point and later browse with GPC on, the signal wins: the cookies are not set and no session is recorded, without you having to go back and change the setting.
To be exact about what continues: cookieless analytics and error reporting still run, as described in the Privacy Policy. Neither sets a cookie, and neither is a sale or a disclosure to anyone for their own purposes. If you want analytics switched off entirely, use the account-level control in Settings.
